The process begins with an initial consultation and quote where we’ll discuss your vision, preferences, size and details about the subject to select or create reference photos combining any meaningful elements you’d like to use. From there, I’ll use these photos to create a digital mock-up to confirm the composition, colouring and background so you have a realistic idea of the final outcome. Once we agree on everything, I’ll get started on your custom painting.

Absolutely! For sizes larger than 40×50cm, please detail your approximate desired size in your inquiry.

Yes, I’m happy to recommend framing styles that complement the artwork which can be included in your personalised quote and provide guidance on the best way to hang and display your piece.

If you have a specific wall space you’re looking to hang this piece, send me a photo & measurements of this wall and I can create your digital mock within this space so you can visualise exactly how your custom painting will look in the space, in your requested size!

Once the reference photo, commission details and deposit are confirmed, please allow a minimum of 2 months for smaller-size commissions and 4-6 for larger paintings depending on the scale and complexity of the artwork. This includes drying and varnish time.

If you have a specific deadline, like a birthday or anniversary, please let me know, and I’ll do my best to accommodate.

When the painting is at a good stage of likeness to your reference, I will provide photos/videos allowing you the opportunity to provide your thoughts to make any final revisions. Before final corrections are made, you will have the chance to see the painting in person in Birmingham should this be feasible for you.

If this commission is a gift I would recommend it not be a surprise as individuals typically like to have input on how they are depicted in the artwork.

Once the painting is complete and you are happy with the result the final payment will be made before the piece is delivered/collected.

If there is something in particular in the way of colour pallet or content in the work of another artist I am happy to use this as inspiration. However, commissions will be painted in my signature style.

Once the digital mock-up is confirmed and the painting has been started there is no option to change the design, the digital mock-up development stage is where we discuss possibilities and confirm your final design.

Should you wish to choose a different reference, in the middle of the painting process then we would start at the beginning and a new deposit will need to be paid.

Should you change your mind once the majority of the painting and have been sent photos/videos for feedback has been completed you are obligated to pay the final payment to compensate for the time taken to complete the custom artwork.

Oil paintings should be kept away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity, and extreme temperatures. Dust the surface gently with a clean and soft dust brush as needed.
